Private
Private payable Speech Pathology sessions for clients. You may claim for speech pathology sessions if this is an included extra in your private health insurance.

Speech therapy via telehealth is a remote service that using Microsoft Teams for therapy sessions. Client and Speech Pathologist connect through video conferencing, allowing for therapy from home. Key benefits include increased accessibility, convenience, flexibility and comfort.
Medicare
Medicare is a vital healthcare program that provides medical coverage to eligible individuals in Australia. It plays a crucial role in ensuring access to quality healthcare services for people across various age groups. However, navigating the complexities of Medicare can be daunting. Speak Zone is dedicated to supporting individuals in accessing and utilizing their Medicare benefits effectively.

Initial assessment and Subsequent assessment to a maximum of 5 services (including any services to which this item or any other item in this Subgroup or item 93000 or 93013 in the Telehealth and Telephone Determination applies) in a calendar year. A gap payment is required.
In most cases the fee will be more than the rebate and there is generally an out of pocket cost for clients who are seeing a speech pathologist under this program. Speech pathologists rarely bulk bill (i.e., only charge the Medicare rebate) for services that are eligible under Medicare items such as the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Program.
The client pays the full fee and then claims the rebate from Medicare. The out-of-pocket expense will count towards the Medicare safety net.
